Membership

Sycamore GEAR (Gifted Education, Advocacy, and Resources) is a parent-led group for families in Sycamore Community Schools who are interested in gifted education. Your child does not need to be identified or even receiving gifted services to become a member as membership is not limited in any way.  Members must only be interested in gifted education and enrichment in our school district to join.

Since we are merely parents and volunteers who receive no funding from the district, we must rely on donations and membership dues to offset the costs of our programs, teacher gifting, and other fees related to our advocacy.

Benefits to members:

  • Remain informed about Sycamore’s gifted, advanced, and accelerated programs and policies.
  • Meet and interact with other local families that have the same questions and concerns.
  • Lend your voice when gifted programs need support at the local, state, or national level.
  • Your membership dues go 100% to support the programs and activities of GEAR.

Did you know that Ohio does not mandate gifted education services? The services we enjoy at Sycamore today exist because parents like you expressed the need for district support of gifted services. Become a member and help keep GEAR strong!
