GEAR is hosting our annual Back-to-School Picnic!
Date: Friday, September 23, 2022
Time: 5:30pm
Location: Montgomery Park Shelter
We will be hosting a variety of activities such as:
- Tap into Social Activism with Monarch Butterflies
- Learn about Monarch butterflies, now an endangered species
- Meet a Praying mantis, a chrysalis’ predator, up close and personal
- Take some milkweed home to plant
- If we are lucky, there may even be hatched butterflies to see!
- Give your visual-spatial skills a workout with:
- knot tying
- balloon art: make a butterfly, sword, or abstract piece
- Make your mark with sidewalk chalk
- Bust a move with a bubble dance area
- Get your Game on with a selection of various board games available for play
- Exploding Kittens, Codenames, Tsuro — just to name a few!
- Watch an irreversible chemical change as you toast marshmallows for your S’mores
S’mores! Come roast your own marshmallow in the fireplace and make your own dessert! - Play on the playground while meeting new friends
- Ask questions and share your expertise with other Sycamore families
- And more!
This is a free event open to all Sycamore families. Come meet other families and learn more about our organization and how we help support Sycamore families.
This event is sponsored by Sycamore GEAR – Gifted Education Advocacy and Resources. You do not need to have children in gifted services to participate, but we encourage you to become a member to enjoy more of the events and services we can provide.
